What is ventilation?
Heat-retaining insulation is a great choice for your home, but it can cause reduced airflow. This can lead to poor air quality, damp and condensation. Fortunately, ventilation is a key element of our portfolio of works. A properly ventilated home enjoys numerous benefits, while retaining the energy and cost savings of modern insulation.
How does ventilation work?
The most common types of ventilation installed in the home are trickle vents and extractor fans. Trickle vents are narrow slots built into window frames, which allow passive natural air exchange between inside and out while not creating an unwanted draught. Extractor fans actively pull air out of the home, and are installed in trouble spots like steamy bathrooms or greasy kitchens to keep internal air quality high. In many cases, a ventilation installation may be required before we can proceed with insulation works.
